1. What does Real Continuous Testing Result History Look Like? *

Let me quickly explain what the two colours mean in the above chart:

  • GREEN
    All tests pass.
  • RED
    Any test failed.

Below are my four assessment factors to determine whether Continuous Testing is truly implemented.

  1. Execution History Cannot be All Green
  2. Execution History Cannot be All Red
  3. Only a short gap between the next Green and the Red
  4. Too Few E2E Tests

2. Why Are Most E2E Test Automation Training Not Effective? Part 4: Extended Duration: Exceeding 1 Day (Consecutively) *

Some readers might be shocked: “Is even 2 days too long?” Yes, for E2E test automation training.

Most test automation trainings last two or three days primarily because companies want to maximize profits 💰💰. To fill the time, they pack sessions with theory and buzzwords — plenty of them in software testing — like ‘ATDD,’ ‘BDD,’ ‘Shift-Left Testing,’Visual Testing,’ ‘Cross-Browser Testing’, and ‘Component Testing,’ among others.

Sadly, after just a few days of buzzword-heavy training, attendees retain little knowledge. They return with a training company certificate but lack real skills, ultimately reverting to manual testing.

Why isn’t most E2E test automation training offered in a staged manner, as should be the case?

  • The instructor is incapable of answering the hands-on questions once attendees start digging deeper with self-practice.
  • It is easier to prolong one training session (2 or 3 days) for maximum revenue.
