I have been doing daily production releases for over 10 years, backed by E2E (UI) Testing.

The so-called slow and brittle challenges with E2E (UI) tests can be overcome. Once done that, a total different world.

“We have been told many times that this is a very difficult discipline to put in place, but once it is working, no one would ever think of going back to the old way of doing things.” - Implementing Lean Software Development: From Concept to Cash, by Mary Poppendieck and Tom Poppendieck

For every client project I led over the past decade, in post project reviews, the implementation of E2E UI Test Automation is always was the listed by team members the most success factor.

The problem is that E2E test automation knowledge is so rare. It is not hard to learn, rather, senior engineers and management don't regard it as utmost important, Sigh! And don't seek help from test automation coaches.
