The Unexpected Popularity of My Article, “What Happened to ThoughtWorks?”

Maybe the main reason is the “Power of the Facts”

Long-time readers know I blogged mostly about E2E Test Automation and Continuous Testing, occasionally delving into side hustles. Nearly all my articles are gated behind a paywall, accessible exclusively to Medium Members. I’ve long held the belief that only highly motivated software engineers (who are willing to engage hands-on) can truly master E2E test automation, thus I’m content with catering to a niche audience.

Recently, my article “What Happened to ThoughtWorks?” (published on 2024–05–06, over 2 weeks ago) showed a significant surge in read count.

As you can see, there were just about (between 10–40) member read counts for 12 days. Starting 05–18, the number started going up quickly, to today (05–22)’s ~1500. This is very unusual. You might also notice the high read ratio of 87%.

Please note that the number I mentioned is not a public access count; it is a read count by Medium members. In other words, about 1500…
