XP is inspired from lean manufacturing, Kent Beck told a Toyota factory story in the XP book. So XP is an application of real industry practices to software development. Scrum is limited to IT industry too. Toyota will throw so-called Scrum stuff out in a second, based my understanding of Pragmatic Thinking and Learning book. Based on my assessment, 99+% so called Scrum projects are fake. Personally, I dare not buy a car from a company doing 'Scrum'. It is easy to check: "Do you deploy to production after sprint?". Even the Scrum creator think story points is a waste, check out my another article for links.
