A Practical Guide to Self-Learning E2E Test Automation and Being Better Than the Industry Average in One Week, for $1 to $11.
The industry’s average bar for E2E test automation is very low. It is quite easy to surpass when using a sound approach to learning.
In the article “Doer vs. Talker in End-to-End Test Automation”, I posted dozens of LinkedIn messages I received, but none of them, from what I see, did NOT take real action to learn real E2E Test Automation. Let’s face it, one important factor is money, NO, actually mindset. They don’t want to spend a tiny bit of money spend to invest in their growth (for books, resources, training, tools, coaching, …, etc). Will they persist in learning an appearing-easy-but-failed-nearly-everywhere skill that was not taught at University? I doubt it. I made this conclusion from many years of working with or mentoring a number of software engineers/testers.
Free to $1 is like a boundary between 0 and 1 in binary. Many people simply won’t cross the boundary. For those who do, the money spent on learning E2E test automation is tiny. It could be their best investment (maybe with 1000+X return like one mentee of mine).
